Conversation #95: Summer Fun Song of the Week

Conversation #94: The Frugality Lives On

Lately this blog seems to either be about my health goals or fashion (and maybe a fun song or two).  I guess for the most part that is attributed to the fact that the whole getting healthy thing and exercising has become a large part of my life, and then for some reason, I started reading a lot of fashion blogs.  I like fashion blogs.  They aren't really important or life changing, but they are fun and make me want to think of new ways to wear what I have. However, they have also made me want to buy more.  Coupled with my weight loss and needing new clothes that fit, I think I may have gone a little overboard.  I have always been pretty good about the "one in, one out" rule, but now I was needing to maybe recover some costs of the new items.  Any of you who know me, know I love getting a good deal.  I typically only shop sales, and even if I "splurge" on something in my mind, it was still really on sale.  I have found amazing deals this summer...

Conversation #93: Summer Fun Song

Wow – I have so much I want to blog about, but I just can’t seem to make myself put it into words.  Lately, I feel like a lot of the things I would write about could offend people or make people I know feel badly and I just don’t want to do that.  I know this is my blog, but more than anything I like everyone to be happy.  Maybe I’ll figure out a way to share some of those things. I have also been pretty busy too.  I threw a bachelorette party last weekend for one of my best friends, and it was a blast.  All of the other bridesmaids were just so sweet and fun, and now I can’t wait until the wedding when I get to see them all again! Okay, so now onto the summer fun song of the week.  I LOVE this song and it is quickly becoming my summer anthem.  I couldn’t find the actual video on YouTube so this will have to do for now: <iframe width="425" height="349" src=" http://www.youtube.com/embed/AyKBFnNSVrc" frameborder=...

Conversation #92: Do Better Mondays

So I’m not signed up for a Weight Watchers subscription anymore, but I still track my points in the little book each day and bought the point companion books and calculator and I may do this for the rest of my life.  I’m sure at some point it will become second nature. Anyway, I figure I shouldn’t call it a Weight Watchers update anymore because I will at some point get these last 3.5 pesky pounds off and reach my goal.  However, I still want to track my goals to healthy living to hold me accountable. On Sundays before church I’ll watch Fox News and they have a segment with Dr. Rosenfeld.  He always gives a health tip to start the week off right and do better this week than last.  That kind of stuck with me one week (no tip in particular, just that I can start the week over and do better).  My WW week starts on Sunday so I figure Monday is a good day to write my goals for the week.  Also, I have a bachelorette party weekend coming on Friday so I won’t t...

Conversation #91: Summer Fun Song of the Week

I am so mad at myself that I haven't been doing this the last few weeks because I do have a long list of songs I want to share.  For today, this is a video from the show The Voice.  My hubby and I really enjoyed it, and I think all of the singers were much more talented than those on American Idol.  (Sorry if you love AI) Anyway, Dia Frampton came in second and I was super happy because I loved her and Javier both so I'm glad they were 1 & 2.  I think this performance really sealed it for me on Dia.  She did a cover of Heartless by Kanye West, and I all I can say is AMAZING! Enjoy and have a super weekend (and try to stay cool if you are experience the same 100 degree plus heat that I am)!

Conversation #90: Four days late and 2 pounds short!

*This was supposed to post last week - sorry! Well, the time came.  I had to end my WW subscription.  Okay, I could keep paying for it, but my 3 months was up and I am only 2 pounds shy of my goal!  I bought some of their tools so that I could keep on keeping on for the rest of my life, but I just felt like I didn't need the subscription anymore.  Actually, I do miss being able to look up food items easily, so I think I may ask my mom to order me their food guide book and dining out book because she has a sub right now and can do that for me.  We'll see how this week ends up, but I have been going it alone with my little guidebook I keep in my purse. Anyway, overall I lost 16 pounds on WW and only have 2 left to reach my goal.  The only bad part of all of this that I have been going a little crazy buying smaller clothes.  I have tried to slow myself down lately, but it has been kind of fun.  I'll have to share some items with you a little later...

Conversation #89: I think I might fall asleep typing this...zzzzzzzzz

Ok, not really.  I am pooped though!  The hubby and I took a trip north to our hometown to visit some dear friends and family.  It was a whirlwind weekend.  I never sleep great on trips (it is super frustrating), but we just had late nights and lots of driving.  I was way too tired to get up and exercise today.  I decided I could give myself a break for one day. I hate the monthly visitor, Aunt Flo (have any of you ever called it that).  I don't remember where I first heard that, but I never used it much.  Well, for some reason this week I said it to the hubby and he loves calling it that now.  What a nerd, but I love him!  Anyway, since I started Weight Watchers, the week Aunt Flo has been here has always been a struggle and I tend to lose nothing.  I'm not sure if it is water retention or just hormones, but then weighing makes me extra depressed (and I know that is the hormones).  Anyhow, I didn't lose any this week.  ...
