Let the conversation begin...

If you followed me here from my last blog, welcome back! If you are an entirely new reader, welcome! I needed to take a break from blogging for a bit and reinvent and refocus what I wanted my blog to be. I feel like I have been gone longer than I have, but I missed having this outlet and way to communicate with my blog friends. However, things will be different this time. I probably won't post as often, and I think I want to focus more on topical posting versus random thoughts that pop in my head. I want to write (and maybe even teach) about projects I'm working on. I want to share political opinions sometimes because this Country and the people in it are important to me. If we disagree, that is fine. We are a diverse world so I don't expect us to always see eye to eye. Most of all though, I want this blog to be a way to converse and share fun ideas, tips, and stories. I hope you'll decide to join in on this conversation because I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Welcome back! I look forward to reading your posts no matter how far apart or close together they may be. :-)
Sometimes a break is so nice! I can totally relate, since I stopped posting on Unpretentious Teacher to focus on our move. :)

Conversation #32: Kitchen Design Help!

Okay, I don’t really know that too many people read this blog since I moved to a new address, but I’m begging if you do, please help me.  I am at a loss on what to do with part of my kitchen. Here is how I painted my kitchen 3 years ago: It was fun, bright, and I like it, but we decided it needed to be a bit more grown-up these days.  I knew we would have to paint it before we moved so we decided to just go ahead and do it now for a change.  We decided to go with a gray so that it would be neutral but not boring.  However, the gray had a strong blue tone to it on the walls and now I need to phase out my turquoise decor I think. Here are some afters (still putting it back together): Some of these are the same shots but with/without flash to show the colors.  I think I really like the new color, but the turquoise trim does not go anymore in my opinion.  I’m trying to figure out what to do with it, and I need help!!! ...

A Conversation about Absenteeism

Wow!  It has been too long.  I have still kept up on reading everyone’s blogs, but commenting and writing have been out the window for me.  I have thought often about blog topics, and I’ll try to get back on regular posts tomorrow. Basically, the last few weeks have been full of preparing for this past Saturday.  What was this past Saturday, you may ask?  My incredibly intelligent and amazing husband graduated from law school!!!!!!!!!  I can hardly contain my excitement.  I am proud beyond words, and now we just have one last hurdle: the bar exam.  I know the next two and half months will still be full of study, but it still doesn’t squash my excitement of no more late night classes, missed parties, or tension filled finals weeks.  We are done!  I only say “we” because it is definitely a path that affects both the student and family, but trust me, the hubby did ALL the work!  Needless to say though, we had lots of family in town...

Conversation #190: Build 'Em Up

I was so excited when I read about this new blog link-up happening.  I love Eri n and Kelly 's blogs, and I love the idea of women building each other up.  There is so much negative and sadness in this world and that just gets me down some days.  So let's build each other up and encourage each other!  I invite you to take part! The topic this week is "Bringing Faith to Life."  If you had asked me to write about this a year or two ago, I would have written such a different pose.  God has opened my eyes and revealed so much of His truth to me over the last couple of years that my Faith has just grown and changed so much in such a good way. If you are a long time reader, I shared some of my faith story a while back, but I will give a brief overview real quick. I grew up in a Christian home, became a believer and was baptized in August 1999 (between 8th grade and my freshman year), and then tried to live life following a bunch of "rules" that were probably...
